The Techno Viking Archive
Everyone knows the Techno Viking video, right? It’s that weird guy dancing in the street during the Berlin Fuck Parade in 2000. But what we didn’t know it that the original title is actually Kneecam No 1 and that it was filmed by Matthias Fritsch. He did some research on his video and found out that it was viewed over 20,000,000 times and made a small exhibition about it: The Techno Viking Archive.
Remember: “The Techno Viking doesn’t dance to the music, but the music dances to the Techno Viking”.
What is the video of TECHNOVIKING?
It is a short video produced by Matthias Fritsch in 2000 at the Fuckparade in Berlin. In 2007 the video was discovered by the You-Tube community and posted by users in various other platforms. After being linked and discussed in different web sites and internet forums it got uploaded on break.com, a big american mediaportal "for guys" were the video had it's peak on September 28th with more than a million viewers in one day.
In the following 6 months more than 10 Million people watched the Video under the new name of "Techno Viking" and more then 700 remix versions and responses of the video were published. There are many videos where people stage the video and reanact it in their homes, clubs or on the streets.

White noise
Very enjoyable Mixtape by Lah inspired by a recent weekend in Berlin with 18 buddies...
A couple of weeks ago me and 17 friends visited Berlin. We didn’t see a lot of hot spots, but we also didn’t sleep a lot…
We booked a table in the White Trash restaurant, right next to White Noise club. We ended up staying there for more than 12 hours…
What did we do? Who knows, but here’s the mix.

Tivoli is één van de grootste poppodia van Nederland en programmeert al bijna dertig jaar de beste popmuziek door kritisch te zijn en keuzes te maken. Van lokale en nationale helden, zoals Kyteman’s Hiphop Orkest, tot parels van de underground, zoals Boys Noize, tot internationale toppers als The Killers, Editors, Arctic Monkeys en Snoop Dogg. Zij kiezen niet zomaar voor Utrecht. Dat doen ze omdat ze vertrouwen in Tivoli hebben en in jou als bezoeker. Dit laten we de gemeente ons niet afpakken!
